This is a nice book for a young man to have on hand. It provides some good advice without being preachy. It's straight forward and easy to read format.

It covers things such as:
How to accept a compliment.
How to give a compliment.
Shaking someone's hand.
How to introduce someone.

There are things it doesn't cover, obviously. But it covers a lot and it's enough for a young man who might want to improve himself or is open to correction and willing to do things better.

I would suggest that it's too basic for an 18 year old. I gave it to my fifteen year old with the thought that if he can drive, he can start to have some more manners (He's already a pretty good kid) and learn to behave more properly.
Because it's not judgy or preachy I think he was willing to read it and found it useful.

The book arrived in pristine condition which i appreciate highly. It is geared more towards younger boys than I was hoping. More of middle school/young high school. Some design choices are odd and can break up the flow of the chapters but it reads well. There are plenty of examples, reads conversationally, and is accurate in all respects. For a beginner's guide, it does well. Though I do say it lacks compared to the female version (I bought and read both as it is wise to understand both sides in order to play your own part well). All in all, as a starter guide for the intended age group, it does very well. When I allocate more funds to my self-improvement budget, I will be researching the rest of their books for more advanced teachings.

The chapters are short but give the “Do’s and Don’ts” and some practical solutions to situations. It’s good to read one section at a time and then implement. Some of the sections are basic but good reminders and, like it said, it’s not just coming from “mom” anymore.

Anyone raising young men should get this book or go over this book with them early!! It creates dialogue and conversation and topics and areas that don’t get addressed enough with young men. That’s why so many young men turn into grown men and don’t know some of these foundational things. The more knowledge the better but it creates the conversation while hitting on the do’s and dont’s pertaining to those circumstances.

With these 50 things maybe 30 or so are intriguing things that can be implemented and practice by young men with their parents working to see progress.

We need to continue to develop young men and help them grow to be confident and competent that they can thrive on their own while educating others.
