Using this for one of my voodoo dove Mojos and it works perfectly with the 8ft extension. I have yet to need to use it at 12ft. The pole comes in a satin black finish, but I painted it flat desert tan since I hunt doves here in the desert. Blends in perfectly now and helps traffic birds from greater distances.
