I love this glue... when they say it's strong, it is! I read some reviews that warned that it needs to be used quickly as it won't be any good in a few months. I used about half a bottle, and sure enough, six months later, I couldn't open the top. The glue inside still seemed ok, so I pried the lid off and worked to get the dried glue out of the cap. Took me a while, but I got it all cleaned out, and the glue inside was good as ever. I concluded that if I just washed out the top at the end of each gluing session, I'd be able to use the whole bottle. Works like a charm. I've used both Titebond II (Fast Set Time) and Titebond III (Longer Assembly Time), and I can only wish that i had known about these years ago. Nothing shaky around here anymore. Fabulous stuff! As for it being runny and messy, I make sure that I have a sponge handy and immediately wipe off excess squeezed out after clamping. I guess I could use less, but since I'm a charter member of Overbuilder's Anonymous, that's not likely to happen any time soon!

Is Titebond II better than the original or the III? I say Yes, here's why.

I've been using Titebond 2 Premium now for several years and love it. My daughter actually did a project in school on which wood glue was the best. We tested this compared to several of the top named brands and even tested it compared to the original Titebond and Titebond III. Interestingly enough the Titebond II had the fastest tack time of them all. During our test we also discovered that of all the glues we tested Titebond I,II,III had the strongest hold after a 30 minute period.

I personally use Titebond II because:
It has a strong hold after 30 minutes, allowing me to get my projects done faster.
It is water resistant ( For my woodwork this is a must )
It cleans up great
It has a a very fast initial tack time ( as determined by the project).
It is very easy to spread out ( not as tacky as some )
My woodworking has indirect food contact in which the Titebond II is FDA approved for.
Sandability is pretty easy as long as you don't go to heavy on your glue up. More is not better with this glue!
Super fast drying time.
Caution: As others have stated be careful where you store it and what temperatures you store it at because it will freeze,
Overall this is my go to glue for just about all of my woodworking projects. From my daughter's project to using it daily, take it from me this is the best all around glue you can buy,
