I had my KTMs frame,swing arm and sub frame powder coated.Sad to say that the business performing the work didn't protect the rear lower shock mount bearing area nor swing arm bearing surfaces from receiving the coating,which should have been done.I took this wheel,removed every other scotch-brite element from the wheel,soaked it in 200 degree water till it was soft enough to fold over in one direction and fit into the areas needed.This quickly and efficiently removed the powder coat and left and very polished/machined factory surface area once again.Now,I kept a small hole bore gauge handy and after each pass check the inside diameter to make sure that the machined aluminum surfaces integrity was kept within spec.

This product as the name suggests, is ultimately for finishing. Whatever your furniture or automotive touch up job, if you have some serious grit sanding/smoothing you want, go with a flap disk sander. When you get to that finishing touch, feel free to whip this baby out. I was smoothing a cast iron edge with this, and I wore it down pretty quickly by asking it to do too much! That said, just a light touch shined that cast iron up really well! If used correctly, its great for buffing it metal back to a nice shine.

Left the wood looking like it had been sanded to 180 but if using on very thick finish they do wear out faster.

I used primarily to remove significant scratches on an aluminum monitor arm
1. the end finish is like brushed metal (sorry didn't use it on wood).
2. The diameter of the attachment makes it quite difficult to work in tight areas and around grooves.
3. There will be a significant amount of airborne particles from what you're sanding I recommend to use a mask of something similar to prevent you inhaling the fine dust.

however overall I am impressed with it and the end result and I recommend it whole heatedly.
