I developed dry eye recently and have been waking with painful, burning, gritty eyes. eye doc said just used the preservative-free OTC drops, for the rest of my life. then i recalled taking lutein last year for an unrelated eye problem. anyway, one month back on the lutein and i do not need the drops anymore. I wake and my eyes are just a tiny bit dry, but no pain, no grit, nothing like that. it is well worth the price!
