Absolutely love the color on my cedar glider! My only issue is dry time. I did two coats of stain on the same day and the glider has been in controlled temperatures ever since. It’s been 2+ weeks and it’s still not fully dry. I’m sure it will get there eventually but it definitely was not the 72 hour dry time listed on the can. Overall I am happy with it!

Purchased this stain after reading reviews. Was looking for a stain that would be easy to apply and hopefully match as close as we could the color to existing fencing. We just purchased a home and added some fencing. We had a difficult time finding something close enough, but the Natural Cedar fit the bill just about perfectly. We live in Arizona in the valley where it is very, very hot. When the weather cools off, I will redo all the rest of the fencing so it is all cohesive, but just wanted to do what was necessary at this point. Very easy to apply, no dripping, running. Also very easy to clean up. I'm very pleased with this product. Did one side yesterday and this morning the other side. Noticed it had lightened up some overnight, but that's okay. Just did 1 coat and we'll see how it holds up over time. Maybe when we end up doing the rest of the fencing it will need a second coat, but for now just did the one and it seems to be fine. Soaked right into the wound very nicely. I also read that you aren't supposed to sand the wood, but ours was so full of splinters that I just wanted to give it a light sanding so get the main big splinters off. Still worked great. I would definitely do light sanding again. I don't think it hurt anything at all. I was going to buy this at Lowe's, but they have a 2 gallon minimum to order online and there was none in the store. I was fortunate to find it at Amazon for $30 and change with free shipping, so that is the route I took. It was here in about 5 days from ordering. As of now, I am very pleased with this product and would highly recommend. Hopefully, it will last for awhile, but nothing lasts for long out here in the Arizona heat and sun.

Very happy with Ready Seal. Purchased it because of the ease of reapplying for annual or bi-annual maintenance. Applied to a 25 year old deck that was neglected for the past 7 years. Obviously we had a lot of preliminary work to do of stripping and brightening deck. Ready Seal went on great. The neglected deck sucked up a lot more stain than the spread rate. (Due to years of neglect, not the stains fault). (Almost twice the amount than the lowest spread rate). It came out great. Looked like a "new" deck. Slightly darker than what I expected,(probably due to the amount of stain applied) but it is lightening up nicely with time. It has been about two months(with a season of lots of rain, sun and extreme heat) and it is still beading up nicely. I am very glad I purchased. I will buy again and I am recommending to all my friends.

I have done a lot of research into stains. I have tried a variety in the past on fencing, outdoor play houses etc. and I have come to find that its hard to beat a good oil based wood stain. I have tried other brands but so far none have been as good as this stuff. It is "goof proof" meaning it's pretty hard to put it on wrong. It doesn't streak when you overlap nore does it dry to fast in the shade. It is also rain resistant very shortly after application and can be applied in most temperatures as long as its dry (though I wouldn't personally try it below freezing). So far the color has held up well on a maple deck and on the kids pine/cedar playhouse. It will likely require annual maintenance but thats pretty easy given its oil based. It won't peel like water based stains tend to.

Easily stained exterior treated wood with good results.
Don't bother saving whatever's left over, it won't be useful.

Had a cheap, poor quality pine slat fence installed on a rental property and it looked cheap, poor quality. Did tons of research on stain/sealers for dry, hot climates. This was the best oil-based recommendation and it turned out to be perfect. The wood was already desiccated and warping. With only one coat ( highly recommend 2 coats) it transformed the fence. Stain evened out the color, sealed the surface, and the cedar color over pine looks classy. The second coat really made the difference. It visually evened out the surface. Lotta work using rollers, rather than spraying, but more stain covered the wood. We saved tons of money over more expensive wood fencing, which still would have needed stain.

I’ve tried using this on my cedar decks…both old and new, for 2 yrs In a row. After the first year, they told me it didn’t work because my new wood must have had moisture, so I power washed it all off, used a moisture meter and after all that grueling work…same. Beautiful at first, then dries up after the first couple of months and the wood looks dry and brittle. I originally used Sherwin-Williams semi transparent cedar, and it lasted 15 years. When I power washed the old Sherwin-Williams off and used Ready Seal, it turned dark. Then, on other decks, I used the Sherwin-Williams again, and it turned out beautifully! Can’t be 15 years, when I can’t even get one season out of Ready Seal. I have called them numerous times and done everything they have told me to do.
