I have chronic back pain and have to sit in long meetings. I found the chair to really help relieve back pain. It is a bit pricey but well worth it. After I had it for a few weeks, ordered for my wife and kids as well. They love it. One of my kids had a sports injury and was complaining about back pain while attending his remote classes. With help of an adjustable standing desk and this chair that pain has become manageable.

I've been using a $300 Chinese "ergonomic" chair for the past couple years. I've been working on that chair 12 hours per day, but there was always some discomfort on my hips and lower back. I finally pulled the trigger and bought this one after extensive research. To describe it short, I cannot believe I've been on that other one for the past couple years, my poor spine. The only downside is that the black frame does feel kind of cheap, so now I am wishing I had bought the aluminum frame. I am also worried about the maintenance of the fabric upholstery, so I am trying to see if I can change this to a leather + aluminum version.

So, I spend about 7-11 hours a day at a desk and computer. I had already spent some $1,400 on a GREAT Uplift up-down desk (solid wood top, all the electronics), but it was time for a better chair. I had spent no more than $450 for chairs, but that is not the fix.

Places like OfficeMax and other stores do not sell $1,000++ "task" chairs. I drove about 110 miles R/T to a Steelcase warehouse, as there are no retail centers, and got to try all kinds of chairs - ones actually in use in this big center.
I decided on the Leap chair, but bought it online so I could get all the options I wanted - running the price slightly over $1,400 (no leather, but great coverings, chrome).

So, am 100% satisfied and have already bought the same chair in the stool version, to use when I am higher in my Uplift desk.

What happens on this chair is that it adjusts and slides and moves in ways no other chair does. The arms are padded, go up, down, out, in, forward and back! How neat!

Lean back in the lumbar adjusted back (with adjustments on the travel and the tension in leaning back) and when you do this, the bottom cushion moves forward - and even that is adjustable.
There is a whole video on just doing adjustments.

And, of course, this is from one of the premier manufacturers, not in China so everything is first-class.
If you order online with dozens of options of fabrics, colors, finishes, etc., they give you a full 30-day, no cost, no fee, no question return (just like Amazon would too - so they are seeing how to work the market).

Online said it would be at least 28-days to start the custom order (all are custom), but I had the chair at my desk in about 10 days, so they underpromise and overdeliver.

What a great purchase, even if it was way more than I though I would spend.

LOVE the Leap & prefer Leap to Aeron

I just received this chair 2 days ago. I didn't purchase through Amazon - but I have no complaints about Amazon. I wanted a customized chair. So, I went to OfficeDesigns.com. I spoke on the phone with the proprietor & ordered my chair. My Leap is leather which I love as it's soft & comfy. I also opted NOT to get the headrest. The reason I'm writing a review here is because I would highly recommend the headrest & wish I paid a little more for one. I'm also an Aeron owner. I've used the Aeron chair for 2 years in my office. I can honestly say that as between Aeron & Leap, the Leap is - by far - more comfortable. And for women with smaller body frames, the movable armrests are a dream! On the Aeron, the armrests only pivot in at the top of the arm. If you type (as I do) with elbows close to your sides, the Aeron pivot just doesn't work right. It's simply amazing to me that I can type this review now with both my elbows comfortably set on the armrests! I'm not kidding. In the Aeron, I always feel like I'm leaning forward and if I turn off the tilt, then it seems that I can't get my back against the back of the chair when I type. Leap's seat depth adjustment is so perfect - you can really get your seat exactly where you want it. I use the Leap in my home office. I would really love to move it to my work office but really can't because of the headrest (I have an aftermarket headrest on Aeron.) So, I think if you don't need a special order chair, then this one on Amazon is a great option. Good luck!
