Very, VERY sturdy. I was nervous about the other review saying they came bent. And then when the package came, it didnt sound like there was any cushion (and there wasnt). But after opening and examining them, it makes sense because they dont need it. Sturdy, cute and reasonably priced!

These bookends would be ok if you had plenty of desk room. However, they aren't as tall as most bookends so the tall books would have to be put lengthwise in the holders to stay well. A student wouldn't have space on their desk for that extra requirement. It was disappointing as we really thought they were darling.
