Product Description
If your headphones are always a lot quieter than you'd prefer, and cranking the volume is not an option, then perhaps this Stereo Headphone amplifier is perfect for you! The compact size and multiple input and output types mean you can hook it up to your AV Receiver's pre-out or your PC's headphone socket. Many headphone outputs are simply not designed to power higher impedance, large driver headphones; it provides this extra power with low noise!
A headphone amplifier is a low-powered audio amplifier designed particularly to drive headphones worn on or in the ears, instead of loudspeakers in speaker enclosures. Most commonly, headphone amplifiers are found embedded in electronic devices that have a headphone jack, portable music players. However, standalone units are used, especially in audiophile markets and in professional audio applications, such as music studios. Headphone amplifiers are available in consumer-grade models used by hi-fi enthusiasts and audiophiles and professional audio models, which are used in recording studios.

It does work, at least. I'm not the world's best judge of audio quality, but it sounds okay to me, no hissing or anything. Now, let's see how long it keeps working, and I'll come back and amend the review accordingly.
Still working, on 24/7. Clearly this is a product above and beyond all the $20 amps that stopped working within days, I guess the extra eight bucks or whatever was worth it.
They've replaced the power brick that's pictured with a USB based 9 volt cord and an accompaning brick. Tried a micro b cable as well, very slight volume drop. Still clear
Cranked the amp and lowered source volume as much as possible. Clear imaging remains and no bleed over that I can detect.
Now if I plug these into a set of speakers I have, theirs a hiss. But this happens regardless of the input, cord or source and its very slight. The speakers are at fault, if you have something that naturally has a slight hiss, this will amplify that slight hiss as well. Try a ground loop isolator (which I have and removes the issue), try moving the power bricks to different outlet, etc.
My biggest gripe is no included aux, I kind of expect that and considering that cost .03 on average. Yeaaahhh not cool, I will report back in 6 months to see if it still holds up
Do you like white noise added to your music due to completely unshielded components? Is your music player too loud and you want to limit the max volume? Then this is the perfect product for you. It introduces loud, obnoxious interference (depending on the source, I got hisses, cracks, pops, and much more!), and makes more noise any time you adjust the audio. The max volume is actually lower than the sources I had hoped to amplify. The build quality falls somewhere between "certain fire hazard" and "high school electronics project."
The included accessories are: a power cord.
"But at least it's portable, it says so right in the title!" Which is technically true, provided you use an external power bank to plug into the micro USB jack (sadly I did not test this feature). There is no battery. There is nothing. This is garbage, made from the remains of a failed product lost to time and thrown away, only to be picked up by accident by a factory worker on his walk home. He placed it in his bag and forgot about it. One day, back at work, it fell out and a manager saw it. "What are you doing stealing products?" he yelled. The man tried to explain, but couldn't get a word in and was fired. The manager didn't know what the device was either, but to save face in front today his superiors he printed some letters on it and ramped up production of the "Headphone Amplifier."
There's no branding on the product anywhere, it comes in a blank white box, and it's not even listed on this "company's" website, almost like they're ashamed of it. This is the amplifier equivalent of "Super Band Hero" your grandma got you from Walmart because she thought she was getting a great sale price on Rock Band.
Save yourself the money and just have a friend wear your headphones and shout the lyrics to you across the room. I promise it's a much more enjoyable experience.
Bonus feature: the power brick is trying to tell me something, but it's in French. No, there is no English translation, yes everything else is in English.
