I have to go for hip surgery three months from now, and my doctors recommended I keep the hip moving. Walking was too painful, the gyms are closed, and I couldn't afford to purchase a recumbent bike, a rower, or any other non-impact equipment. And then I hit on the idea of a hula hoop. My PT and surgeon both thought it was a great idea. I have been using it now for two weeks and my hip and all my other joints have more range of motion and stronger, I get an amazing workout, my core is stronger. And although the hoop still falls a lot and I have to restart a lot, just 15 minutes of trying has made a difference. I can hula now up to 2 and a half minutes at a time before it falls. I wouldn't got with a heavier hoop. The 2 pounds are perfect. The ability to break it down into parts makes it great to store. And if I ever get to travel, I will be able to take it with me.

One of the main features this seller boasts is the portability of this hula hoop. They claim that it is portable, making it easy to take along to classes, groups, or whatever. They clearly imply that it is easy to assemble and disassemble on a frequent basis. SO NOT TRUE!

This hula hoop is nearly impossible to disassemble. I struggled and struggled to firmly depress a button that is well hidden beneath thick, sturdy padding. Oh, the depression point is marked with some sort of label that quickly disappears forevermore. There are 8 pieces that must be assembled and disassembled, each one a painful and grueling experience. Thanks only to other reviewers, I learned the secret of disassembly. Nowhere does the seller offer the information.

It turns out you must pull back the outer thick padding to expose the release button. Depressing that button is still difficult, and even then the two adjoining parts must be pulled apart WHILE DEPRESSING THE BUTTON.

I needed to disassemble this hula hoop just one time - in order to get it back in the box for return! For me, this hoop with 2 pounds of weight was too heavy, much heavier than I expected. I just do not think it is healthy or wise to pound one's organs and cause bruising. Disassembling this hula hoop was a workout for sure, but not the kind of workout I was looking for.

Putting it together was easier than I thought and it did not come apart during or after use. It does wobble and the plastic is not thick enough to reduce the impact of the hard plastic inside. BUT, I'm a petite woman and I did not experience pain nor felt the wobble while using it. The weight is just on point for me when I use all the 8 pieces. It's uncomfortable after a while so if you have sensitive skin or easily bruise, I wouldn't recommend it for you.

 As a little girl I loved hoola hooping. Now as an adult who hasn't even touched a hoola hoop in a very long time, my first week looked like someone who never even hooped before. I kept at it though, even watched a few tutorials on how to do it. After a week of not giving up I was able to hoop for 2 mins. After 2 weeks I was able to hoop for 5 mins. This month has been damn good. I've had lots of fun relearning to hoop. This is weighted so I make sure to not eat nor drink anything right before I hoop. I wait 30 mins after my protein shake to start my routine. Hoop for 5 mins break for 10 hoop for another 5 mins. I do that twice a day. Once when I rise and once before I lay down. As you can see from this video, I've even learned how to move a bit while hooping. I feel the burn from my workout in my legs, thighs, glutes, and back and arms because sometimes I don't know what to do with them 😀. I've lost 3 inches off my waist y'all! So don't give up! Have fun while losing fat🔥
As some helpful information, I've travelled with this in my carryon and had no issues with TSA. The trick I use to take it apart is pull the foam back to reveal the trigger and use a ballpoint pen to press the trigger and pull the piece apart. I've had to superglue some foam back together because it ripped while pulling it back so be careful. I store it in a mesh bag so its see through while traveling.

Wow! It hurts to write this review. Before purchasing this item, I checked several reviews, and there was some that were good and bad. I saw a pic in one if the review that said it was broken after using it a few times. I love to hula hoop, I ignored all the negative comments and went to purchase it, after starting to have an exercice routine, and making the hula hoop a main part of this routine, I was using it in the morning, and it BROKE!!!!!! I have been gentle when using it, so I know for a fact this thing was just NOT properly made! I PAID ALMOST 30$ AND THE RETURN WINDOW IS CLOSED....HOW DO I GET A REFUND? I AM SUPER DISAPPOINTED!
