The mic on my steelseries headset broke a while back and so I have been looking for a cheaper alternative until I can afford a better desktop mic for gaming purposes with friends.
I just have to say, THIS HEADSET IS AMAZING, especially for the price.
It is EXTREMELY comfortable; I can wear this thing for hours without any sort of squeezing, discomfort, or sweating from the ear cups. It’s super lightweight, so there’s no pressure on your head, neck, or shoulders. And I dig the suspension headband.
The overall design is nice and sturdy, the logo designs on the earpieces are clean and crisp, outside and in, I love the smooth feel of the outer ear cups, and all in all, I think the headset looks great.
If you’re looking for noise-cancellation, it’s not even near one of the top contenders, but while you’re actually in-game and listening to the audio, you hardly notice outside noise at all.
The quality of the sound is great, the directional output works awesome, both the single jack and the splitter fit great in my computer and PS4, and set up couldn’t be simpler—just plug and go, no need to download software or anything.
The only thing I would be wary about is the mic, and ONLY because it is SUPER sensitive. I took a drink of water and my friend thought there was a typhoon happening outside her window. With that being said, the mic sound quality is good though, clear and responsive enough—a little brassy at times, but nothing too outlandish. Just be careful not to jostle the mic too much because anyone you’re talking to/streaming to WILL hear it.
Overall, GREAT buy. If you or anyone need a headset and you’re not looking to spend the money on something pricey or that has a brand name on it, I would 10/10 recommend this headset to ANYONE, even us gamers that have been playing forever.
