Even with a fresh clean surface, the bowls do not stay suctioned. My 4 month old pulled it off immediately. On the upside, the spoon is fantastic! He loves the feel of it more than his previous spoons.

I got these bowls for starting solids with my daughter because they are a safer option being silicone. I love letting my babies feed themselves because it’s so good for their development and the suction bottom is perfect for keeping the bowl on the tray! I don’t use the suction function but it does work well when I have tested it. I only wish it didn’t say young life because that is the name of a Christian youth group I am not affiliated with-not a deal breaker for me but I would hesitate to give as a gift as a result.

I like the bowls and the spoon. They're soft and nice colors. My complaint and reason for not giving 5 stars is that it came with 3 bowls and only 1 lid (makes no sense to me) and the suction isn't really that strong. My 4 month old picks it up so easily. I even tried wetting the bottom for a stronger suction.. Still weak. So don't stick it on the high chair within baby's reach. And I highly suggest to the company to put 3 lids for 3 bowls.
