Didn't work out of box, but easily fixed and works well.
I was wary to say the least, given a number of other reviews describing short product life or products that are dead on arrival. I rolled the dice and bought an FZ-0104 mini regulator for $32, used (used available under "other purchasing options").According to the box, this regulator comes in one of four different setups for different tank types (CGA320, W21. 8, G5/8, and M22x1.4). Therefore, if you take note of some of the reviews stating that there CO2 tank or adapter did not fit the regulator threads you should check to make sure the regulator that you have is the correct one for the type of tank that you have. If you are in the United States the standard type of CO2 tank is CGA320, and there are numerous adapters available to convert CGA320 to a paintball-style pin valve. One thing to consider is where will you have the tank filled? When I played paintball many years ago there were places to get tank fills all over the place for 5 to 10 dollars. But when I brought my 20 oz paintball tank to a paintball field to get it filled I was surprised to learn that CO2 has gone out of fashion and they don't even fill tanks anymore because everyone uses compressed air, which didn't even exist for markers back then. I really struggled to find a place to fill it but ultimately found a gas supply company that filled the tank for $20. Thus, by the time you buy a tank, an adapter, and get it filled, you've spent what you would have spent for a 5 lbs. tank of the kind you can exchange for a filled tank at a welding supply store. The regulator body is heavy for its size and appears to be well machined. There were some reviews complaining of leaks around the fittings and gauges. This may have been on older FZONE products, because on this one the gauges and fittings are secured tightly in place with some type of hardened thread sealant. Even with a wrench, I am unable to turn the gauges in either direction, I cannot imagine one of them leaking. If you should happen to get one with a leaky fitting, it should not be too much hassle to remove the gauge or fitting, clean the threads, apply new sealant, and screw back into place. May be easier just to exchange it.The gauges are functional and work as expected but obviously they are not high quality, probably to keep the price low. Same for the bubble counter. The top gauge measures tank pressure and the left gauge measures regulated pressure at the needle/fine adjustment valve (small knob on far right).Regarding the solenoid, I think FZONE has offered improved solenoids over the years, so be wary of older reviews complaining of solenoid issues. That said, my solenoid was dead on arrival. On this model regulator, the solenoid does not have a tiny reset button that fixes some regulator problems. This all said, I took the solenoid apart and immediately noticed one one of the two internal wires had come loose from its terminal. The terminals are similar to modern wall outlets, where you secure the wire in place by inserting it into a hole and turning a screw. After screwing the wire into place and tightening up the other wire, the solenoid worked perfectly. The "click" it makes when turning on and off is pretty quiet and it does not seem to get warm. It is rated at 3.0 watts. Some of the other FZONE solenoid (possibly older models) come with a 2.5 watt solenoid. Replacement solenoids are available from FZONE. Note that solenoids have a finite life expectancy, generally you'll see manufacturers say they will last from one to three years, more or less depending on how often and for how long the solenoid is switched on. Daily use, with a light cycle of like 12 to 16 hours on, I would think I'll be lucky to get one year out of the solenoid.Final word: Very satisfied with this product. Perfectly functioning mini regulator for my three gallon nano tank for $32. I will come back and edit if it fails or if I encounter any other problems.

I received this product and was finally able to get my 5lb CO2 tank filled and connected yesterday! This is my first time injecting CO2 into an aquarium, and I found it intimidating at first, but this regulator is perfect for people like me for a few reasons: 1) it is good quality for the price, making the "entry" cost for CO2 a lot cheaper compared to $200+ regulators 2) it comes with all of the important extras (dual gauge, solenoid, bubble counter, check valve) already attached onto the regulator so you don't have to buy them separately and finagle and potentially mess up connecting them, and 3) everything you need to attach it is already in the box - it comes with a simple wrench and additional rubber washers in case you need them, so I ended up not even needing the toolset I pulled out of my garage. It took me less than 20 minutes to set up as a first-time CO2 user.

Of course, since I only set it up yesterday, I cannot say how well it holds up over time, but it feels like it is of solid make, the solenoid works great with the outlet timer I used, and overall I am very happy with it. I used Fzone CO2 tubing and a double-U stainless steel diffuser I also got off Amazon for the set-up.

Easy to use, solid, all pieces are secure and nice. Been running on a timer for 18 months now without any issue whatsoever. Cant recommend more!

I liked it so much and it held up so long that I ended up buying a second one (after considering more expensive options) but unfortunately had some quality issues - the gauges were dinged and the solenoid did not function (it was always open). Exchanged and received a much more better product (up to the standard of my first). No leaks, no dings, everything working as expected.

Teetered between 4 and 5 stars given the quality issues, but keeping 5 because I’m seriously impressed with both working units that I have now.
Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2020
I had some concerns after reading some of the reviews, but took a chance anyway. It runs quietly. All I ever hear is a click when first powered on. The output seems steady and doesn't change. The gauges are small but my 66 year old eyes read them ok, especially with a flashlight. The unit seems well constructed with a heavy metal body. My plants seemed to have really perked up after 2 weeks and are even propagating finally! It was easy to set up once I got into it. It is hooked up to a 5 pound CO2 tank.

UPDATE August 1, 2021: Came home and about 60 dead fish. Tank was empty. Refilled tank and hooked up, checking for leaks with soapy water. All fine and operating. Then tank ran dry in less than two months. Refilled bottle. Now it is not working at all although I still have gas in the 5 pound bottle. Looking into unit, I discovered it only had one fat O ring where the unit cinched down to the bottle. But there were two small O-Rings in the kit that came with the unit. It appears there are two O-Rings required: one sets into a recessed groove that buts up and seals to the CGA valve. The other appears to go into a groove around the threaded pipe that screws into the solenoid bottle.

I'd like to replace it without spending a ton of money but even some of the other brands under $100 all look the same. I think they must be all manufactured in China under differing brand names. I am so disappointed. I cannot find a good, simple and reasonably priced regulator.

I dropped my rating from five stars to one.

UPDATE 08/03/2021 So I took apart the unit since it was not working and I had nothing to lose. I noticed that it was not clicking when power was applied. Using a magnet I could slide the solenoid rod up and down. So I further disassembled unit where power came into the coil and discovered a disconnected wire. Fixed it and it is now working. Overall my impression is that the parts seem okay, but the workmanship in assembly is...well, Chinese-ish. Just not thorough assembly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work out of box, but easily fixed and works well.

I was wary to say the least, given a number of other reviews describing short product life or products that are dead on arrival. I rolled the dice and bought an FZ-0104 mini regulator for $32, used (used available under "other purchasing options").

According to the box, this regulator comes in one of four different setups for different tank types (CGA320, W21. 8, G5/8, and M22x1.4).

May be easier just to exchange it.

The gauges are functional and work as expected but obviously they are not high quality, probably to keep the price low. Same for the bubble counter. The top gauge measures tank pressure and the left gauge measures regulated pressure at the needle/fine adjustment valve (small knob on far right).

Regarding the solenoid, I think FZONE has offered improved solenoids over the years, so be wary of older reviews complaining of solenoid issues. Daily use, with a light cycle of like 12 to 16 hours on, I would think I'll be lucky to get one year out of the solenoid.

Final word: Very satisfied with this product. Perfectly functioning mini regulator for my three gallon nano tank for $32. I will come back and edit if it fails or if I encounter any other problems.

I used this with a co2 and it work perfectly.

A few precisions

1) The solenoid remains cold and operate silently

2) i used olive oil in the bubble counter is work great ( mineral oil is more usual..but i used olive oil in another counter for 3 years without any problem)

3) the fine adjustment valve is a little tricky to use. A quarter of a turn is enough to go from closed to 3-4 bubbles per seconds. It takes micro turns to get it where you want. Since you will only adjust this once , it should not be a big issue

4) i have no leak at all and the product seems solid

5) the electric cord is very short so you will ( most likely) need an extension

6) I run CO2 at around. 1 bubble per second and it take a bit of time to build enough pressure in the tube to have bubbles coming out of the dispenser. This will, of course, depends on the length of tube, dispenser etc. In my case, I start my timer ( to turn the solenoid on) about 45 minutes before my lights and shut it down 45 minutes earlier. This seems to fit perfectly.

7) The tank gauge stays around 750 PSI while the exit gauge stays around 30PSI.

8) there is no big rush out of C02 when the solenoid opens ( my 200$ system in another aquarium releases 30 bubbles in the first 1-2 seconds. This one only releases 3-4.

My CO2 is several yard/meters away from my aquarium so I added another check valve next to aquarium (almost in it) for more safety.

All in all, it is a great product and i recommend it.

High quality CO2 regulator for an affordable price.
The design is sheik and looks good beside my planted tank.
The solenoid is hooked up to a timer and clicks on and off when It's supposed to.
It has a tight seal to the CO2 tank with no leaks whatsoever.
The adjustment valve works well and is easy to set to however many bubbles per second you want it at.

Highly recommend this FZONE regulator!

I'm new to Co2 injection and this regulator is working perfectly. No leaks, solenoid working for powering on/off (I use external timer). Easy to adjust. This with other individual items (tank, diffuser, tubing) saved me a lot of money (over 200) compared to buying a kit at the fish store.

This is a great product. Excellent quality, works as it should. I bought a second one for my other planted tank since I liked the first one so much!
